Eat Your Way to a Longer Life by Amy Lemen

Healthy Habits - For those who might need help, consider a personal chef service. Toni Scott, chef and owner of Dinner Made Simple, works with a wide array of clients who have dietary restrictions (generally for health reasons), including one client with MS and several others with high cholesterol, weight issues, and high blood pressure. “When you’re faced with a debilitating disease and you’re told you can’t have something, it’s life changing,” admits Scott. “The diet we’ve designed is part of an overall health plan.”

Scott explains that while there are often clients who don’t have the time to educate themselves about healthy eating habits or simply don’t like to cook, many just want to eat healthier and realize that packaged food isn’t always the best option. “They can pick up ready-made food, but what’s in it?” she asks. “All my clients want to eat fresh, organic, healthy food and I can provide that for them.”

A standard Dinner Made Simple package is 20 meals; how long it lasts depends on the number in the household (for example, a family of four or a single person). Typical healthy meals include a vegetarian black bean chili, organic, whole grain pastas, or even balsamic chicken breast with wild mushrooms.
