Cranberry Sauce "Your Way"
1 (12 oz) bag fresh cranberries, rinsed
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Optional Ingredients:
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup dried cherries
1/4 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped
1 tablespoon grated orange zest
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
simmer cranberries and sugar in the water until thickened. Be sure to use a large saucepan as this has a tendency to bubble over. Stir in any or all optional ingredients to create your own “brand” of cranberry sauce. Cool to room temperature.
Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
Serves 8-10
