Roasted Asparagus
1 pound fresh asparagus, tough ends removed
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Adjust oven rack to middle position, preheat oven to 400°F.
Spread asparagus on baking sheet in one even layer. Drizzle with olive oil. Use your hands or some tongs to coat asparagus evenly with the oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and distribute in an even layer. Roast for 10-12 minutes.
